It is with great pleasure that we invite to Stavanger TangoFest 30. January – 1. February 2026, in the beautiful city of Stavanger, on the west-coast of Norway. We are proud to present an amazing workshop-program, and a Saturday milonga with live music by a wonderful tango orchestra in a warm and intimate atmosphere.
Our tango maestros Murat Erdemsel and Silvina Tse are wonderful dancers and teachers, based in Europe. Their performances are typically improvised, which we value very much. And they are so very elegant and musically playful, and such a delight to watch. But most of all, we love their workshops.
The Polish orchestra Cuarteto Re!Tango is a very skilled and reputable tango orchestra, consisting of classically trained and virtuoso musicians. They play very precise and close to the style of the beloved style of a "tango orquesta tipica", which makes their music very danceable.
PROGRAM
Friday evening: 19:30 – 21:15 Consert with Cuarteto Re!Tango, including performance on stage by tango maestros Murat and Silvina. Mini-milonga until 23:00 after the concert. Location: Spor 5
Saturday and Sunday: Workshops with Murat Erdemsel and Silvina Tse. See workshop schedule below. Location: Kannik School
Saturday night: 20:00-01:00 Milonga with live music by Cuarteto Re!Tango. Performance by Murat and Silvina. DJ: Martin Otaño from Rosario, Argentina. Location: Spor 5
The evening program on Friday and Saturday will take place at Spor 5, which is a jazz club in the city center, next to the central station. This is also where we have our regular milongas every Sunday.
All the workshops during day-time will take place on the parquet floor in the gymnasium at Kannik School, which is in walking distance from the city center.

Full workshop pass (called "Helgepass" in the order form) - gives you access to all 6 workshops with Murat and Silvina:
Early-bird price: 1800 NOK (members) / 2200 NOK (non-members). Register before 31. Desember at midnight.
Normal price: 2200 NOK (members) / 2600 NOK (non-members). Register 1.-29. January.
Single workshop price: 400 NOK (members) / 500 NOK (non-members)
Saturday milonga with live music by Re!Tango and performance by Murat and Silvina: 300 NOK (members) / 400 NOK (non-members)
Club membership in Stavanger Tangoverksted for 2026: 400 NOK
Students get 50% discount on all prices. Must show valid student ID.

«Helgepass» gives you access to all 6 workshops by Murat and Silvina. Even with the workshop pass, you still need to select the workshops you intend to participate in. Alternatively, you purchase single workshops.
Ticket for the milonga on Saturday evening is a separate item in the registration.
Stavanger Tangoverksted is a members’ club. The prices are therefore different for members (“medl.”) and non-members (“ikke-medl.”). Anyone is welcome to register as member and pay the membership-fee, which is 400 NOK. Members get reduced prices at all our events and activities throughout the year.
If you register without a partner, we cannot guarantee admittance. We urge everyone to register with a partner. With a partner, you can either register as a couple, or as separate individuals where you give the name of your partner.
The registration is done in steps. First you submit your request. Then you will receive a confirmation and payment info. When you register with a partner, this happens reasonably fast. When you register without a partner, you will be on a waiting list until we have a partner for you.
CONCERT ON FRIDAY
Friday evening there is a concert with the orquestra Re!Tango, including performance on stage by Murat and Silvina. The concert takes place in the same venue as the milonga on Saturday, Spor 5, and is organized by Stavanger Jazzforum. Concert tickets are sold on their website.
In addition to classical tango songs, the concert will also include pieces that are not used for dancing, for example pieces by Astor Piazzolla. Re!Tango's musicians are classically trained and have many years of experience playing tango music in both concerts and milongas.

As soon as the floor is cleared after the concert, there will be a mini-milonga, lasting until appr. 23:00. The milonga is included in the concert-ticket.
